Eli Anker, M.D., P.C.
Director of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery
Dr. Eli Anker is a recognized leader in the field of Minimally Invasive Vascular Surgery. He grew up in New York and graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He did his General Surgery residency at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx and his Vascular Fellowship at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey.
In 1991, shortly after “stents” were approved, Dr. Anker gained prominence when he became the first surgeon on Long Island to place stents to treat blockages of the arteries of the leg. Over the last 25 years, Dr. Anker has successfully treated thousands of patients using the latest techniques and devices including atherectomy, angioplasty, and stenting. Dr. Anker’s surgical skill has allowed countless patients to use their legs without pain and prevented the incidence of amputation. These procedures are performed on an outpatient basis in the safety and comfort of Dr. Anker’s state-of-the art office endovascular suites. Since they are performed through a small groin puncture and under local anesthesia, minimally invasive endovascular procedures can be done on most people, including the elderly and patients with health problems.
Dr. Anker is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He received a New York State Regents Scholarship and admission into Phi Beta Kappa, Beta Delta Chi, and Mensa. He is the recipient of the distinguished AMA Physician’s Recognition Award For Continuing Medical Education.
